Small Pharma’s Big Minds – Jenny Maguire
Find out more about the big minds behind the team at Small Pharma through conversations with the people who work here.
Jenny Maguire, Head of Brand & Communications, sat down to share some more about her role at the company and what good mental health means to her.
Who you are and what you do
I’m Jenny, I’m Head of Brand & Communications at Small Pharma, which means I have the exciting job of telling the story and mission of Small Pharma to the world.
What excites you most about Small Pharma?
Working in a company that is making bold strides towards doing something truly innovative in such an important field – mental health. I get to work with some of the most intelligent scientists and researchers every day, and everyone is truly passionate about creating a potential new treatment option for people who are suffering.
What does good mental health mean to you?
To me mental health means two things. At a more human level this means having more conversations about how we are doing, having more empathy for one another and just normalising the conversation around mental health. The second at a more macro level means fewer people suffering.
What’s something you recommend reading or listening to in this space?
My favourite podcast is the Huberman Lab by Andrew Huberman who is a neuroscientist at Stanford. In one of his episodes a few months ago he introduces a Dr Matthew Johnson who is a Professor at John Hopkins and they have a really great conversation around psychedelics for treating mental health disorders.
Jenny Maguire joined the team at Small Pharma in October 2021. Prior to this she was working with Small Pharma as a brand consultant, which was her core focus in prior roles for global brands.
